■IM258 について is a 5.867 mm diagonal (1/3.06 type) 13-megapixel CMOS active pixel type stacked image sensor with a square pixel array. Adopts Exmor RS™ technology to achieve high-speed image capture through column-parallel A/D conversion circuits and high sensitivity and low-noise images (compared to conventional CMOS image sensors) through back-illuminated imaging pixel structure. R, G, B pigment primary color mosaic filters are adopted. High dynamic range still pictures and movies can be achieved by introducing spatial multiplexing exposure technology. It is equipped with an electronic shutter with variable integration time. It has three power supply voltages: analog 2.7 V, digital 1.2 V, and 1.8 V for input/output interfaces to achieve low power consumption.

FAQs about IMX258 camera image sensor:
1. What type of image sensor is IMX258?
A: IMX258 is a 13-megapixel CMOS active pixel type square pixel array image sensor with a diagonal of 5.867 mm (1/3.06). It uses EXMOR RS technology to achieve high-speed acquisition of column-parallel A/D converter circuits and high-sensitivity and low-noise images through a backlit imaging pixel structure.
2. What are the main features of IMX258?
A: The main features of IMX258 include:
High sensitivity and low noise: high-quality image acquisition is achieved through backlit imaging pixel structure and column-parallel A/D converter circuit.
High dynamic range: spatial multiplexing exposure technology is introduced to capture still images and movies with high dynamic range.
Low power consumption: with three power supply voltages (analog 2.7V, digital 1.2V and 1.8V input/output interfaces), it is suitable for mobile devices.
Variable integration time electronic shutter: adapt to shooting needs under different lighting conditions.
3. What are the common faults of IMX258 camera image sensor?
Answer: Common faults of IMX258 camera image sensor may include but are not limited to:
Increased image noise: It may be due to the "hot pixel" phenomenon caused by excessive sensor temperature, or noise caused by unstable analog voltage.
Image color cast or stripes: This may be due to short circuit, open circuit or wrong connection of the data line, or the coupling effect caused by the close distance between Hsync (horizontal synchronization signal) and high-speed line.
Image afterimage (tailing phenomenon): Some charges are not completely transferred and remain in the photodiode, resulting in the afterimage of the previous frame in the next frame.
Insufficient full well capacity: affects the dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio of the image sensor, and may cause loss of details in the highlight area.
4. How to solve the noise problem of IMX258 image sensor?
Answer: The methods to solve the noise problem of IMX258 image sensor include:
Check and optimize heat dissipation: Ensure that the camera does not overheat during use, which can be achieved by adding heat sinks or optimizing ventilation design.
Stabilize analog voltage: Ensure that AVDD (analog voltage) is stable and meets the sensor specifications to avoid noise caused by voltage fluctuations.
Software algorithm optimization: Slow down or eliminate noise through back-end or software processing algorithms, such as using noise reduction algorithms.
5. How to prevent IMX258 image sensor failure?
Answer: Measures to prevent IMX258 image sensor failure include:
Proper installation and operation: Follow the manufacturer's installation and operation guidelines to avoid mechanical shock and vibration.
Regular maintenance: Clean the sensor surface regularly to prevent dust and impurities from accumulating and affecting image quality.
Avoid extreme environments: Try to avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperature, humidity or electromagnetic interference environments.
Use high-quality accessories: Choose lenses, power supplies and other accessories that are compatible with IMX258 and reliable in quality.
