The OV48C40 color image sensor is a high-performance CMOS image sensor with a 4-element color filter and stacked chip technology, providing 48 mega-dots (8064×6048) at 15fps. It offers multiple resolution options

while maintaining a full field of view. Users can program image resolution, frame rate, and image quality parameters. The industry-standard serial camera control bus (SCCB) is used to control camera functions. The OV48C40 is capable of 80fps 12 mega-dot resolution (40fps with HDR output), allowing continuous shooting at 12 megapixel resolution. OV48C The 40 has a complete 48-mega-dot image array, including all image management functions to ensure a high-quality imaging solution for high-resolution mobile smartphones. All required image processing functions can be programmed through the SCCB interface. In addition, OmniVision image sensors utilize proprietary sensor technology to improve image quality by reducing or eliminating common lighting/power image pollution (such as fixed pattern noise, tailing, etc.), resulting in clean, fully stable color images.

Frequently asked questions about OV48C40 camera image sensor:

Q1: What type of sensor is the OV48C40 camera image sensor?

A1: The OV48C40 is a CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) image sensor. CMOS sensors are widely used in digital cameras, smartphones and other fields with their low power consumption, high integration and good image quality.

Q2: What are the main features of the OV48C40?

A2: The main features of OV48C40 include:

High resolution: supports high-pixel shooting and provides excellent image details.

Large photosensitive element: With a larger photosensitive element area, it can capture more light and improve the shooting effect in dark environments.

Multi-mode output: supports multiple pixel mode outputs to meet the shooting needs in different scenes.

Advanced HDR technology: supports chip-level HDR function, which can present more details in high-contrast scenes.

High-speed video recording: supports high frame rate video recording, suitable for capturing dynamic scenes.

Q3: What are the common faults of OV48C40 camera image sensor?

A3: The OV48C40 camera image sensor may encounter the following common faults during use:

Increased image noise: After working for a long time, due to the increase in temperature, the intrinsic excitation of the semiconductor material intensifies, resulting in a decrease in the signal-to-noise ratio and an increase in image noise.

Image color cast or stripes: Unstable analog voltage or problems with the data line (such as short circuit or open circuit) may cause image color cast or stripes.

Blurred or out-of-focus images: This may be related to the lens focus components or camera settings rather than directly caused by the sensor, but sensor problems may also indirectly affect the focus effect.

Thermal noise: In high temperature environments, the sensor may generate thermal noise, which appears as irregular streaks or color spots on the image.

Q4: How to solve the problem of increased noise in the OV48C40 camera image sensor?

A4: Solutions to the problem of increased noise include:

Optimize heat dissipation: Ensure that the camera has good heat dissipation conditions during operation to avoid overheating of the sensor.

Adjust camera settings: Reduce ISO sensitivity and reduce exposure time to reduce noise.

Software processing: Use image processing software to reduce noise in the image.

Professional repair: If the problem persists, you may need to contact a professional repair personnel for inspection and repair.

Q5: How to prevent the OV48C40 camera image sensor from malfunctioning?

A5: Solutions to prevent the OV48C40 camera image sensor from malfunctioning include:

Proper use: Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, humidity, or electromagnetic interference.

Regular maintenance: Clean the lens and sensor surface, and keep the camera clean inside.

Proper storage: When the camera is not in use, store it in a dry, ventilated place to avoid moisture or pressure.

Pay attention to voltage stability: Make sure the power supply voltage used by the camera is stable to avoid voltage fluctuations that may damage the sensor.
