-
2. What are the main specifications of OV5647?
-
A: The main specifications of OV5647 include:
-
Resolution: up to 2592×1944 pixels.
-
Frame rate: Depending on the resolution, the frame rate varies, such as 15fps at QSXGA (2592×1944) resolution and 60fps at 720p resolution.
-
Image quality: Supports 8-/10-bit raw RGB data output, with high sensitivity and low noise characteristics.
-
Interface: Supports standard serial SCCB interface and MIPI interface (two-channel).
-
Power requirements: core voltage 1.5V ± 5%, analog voltage 2.63.0V (2.8V typical), I/O voltage 1.7V3.0V.
-
3. How is the compatibility of OV5647 with Raspberry Pi?
-
Answer: The compatibility of OV5647 with Raspberry Pi mainly depends on the operating system version of Raspberry Pi and the support of camera driver. In most cases, good compatibility can be achieved by using a newer Raspberry Pi operating system (such as Raspberry Pi OS) and the corresponding camera driver. However, in some specific cases, such as system updates or configuration errors, compatibility issues may occur.

4. How to solve the problem that OV5647 cannot be recognized on Raspberry Pi?
-
Answer: If OV5647 cannot be recognized on Raspberry Pi, you can try the following solution steps:
-
Check the hardware connection: Make sure the camera module is properly connected to the CSI interface of Raspberry Pi and check whether all connection cables are firm.
-
Check the driver installation: Make sure that the driver for OV5647 is installed. For Raspberry Pi, this usually involves enabling the camera interface and installing the necessary library files.
-
Check system configuration: In some cases, it is necessary to enable the camera interface or add specific configuration parameters in the Raspberry Pi configuration file. For example, adding dtoverlay=ov5647 in the /boot/config.txt file may help solve the problem (but note that this depends on the specific Raspberry Pi version and operating system).
-
Check logs and error messages: Check the Raspberry Pi log files (such as /var/log/syslog) for more information about camera recognition. In addition, use the v4l2-ctl –list-devices command to list the connected video devices and check whether the OV5647 is correctly recognized.

5. What are the automatic image control functions of OV5647?
-
Answer: The automatic image control functions of OV5647 include:
-
Automatic exposure control (AEC): Automatically adjust the exposure time according to the ambient light to obtain the correct exposure.
-
Automatic white balance (AWB): Automatically adjust the white balance of the image to ensure the accuracy of the image color under different light sources.
-
Automatic gain control (AGC): Automatically adjust the gain according to the image brightness to improve the brightness and contrast of the image.
-
Automatic Band Filter (ABF): Used to reduce noise and interference in the image.
-
Automatic 50/60Hz brightness detection: Automatically detects and adapts to the 50Hz or 60Hz power frequency to reduce flicker caused by lighting equipment such as fluorescent lamps.
-
6. How to adjust the focus of OV5647?
-
Answer: The OV5647 module itself does not directly provide focus adjustment function, and focus adjustment is usually achieved through the lens. If you are using an OV5647 module with an adjustable focus lens, you can adjust the focus by rotating the focus adjustment ring on the lens. For modules with fixed focus, the focus cannot be adjusted directly.
